CESA’s 2022 Annual Report for its recycling program, ElectroRecycle, has been published. Some highlights from the report are below. Please view the full 2022 report on our annual report webpage.
2022 ElectroRecycle Program Highlights:
- 5,385,384 Kg were collected by ElectroRecycle’s small appliance and power tool program in 2022. This brings the total kg collected since the program’s launch in 2011, to over 49.9 Million Kg.
- In 2022, 95% of collected materials were recycled and repurposed to create new items via 3 contracted Canadian processors.
- 4,662 tonnes of CO2 were saved by recycling products through the program.
- ElectroRecycle partnered with 247 collection sites, thus ensuring that 98% of British Columbians had convenient access to a collection location for small appliances and power tools.
- In addition to offering small appliance recycling at 247 collection sites, the program participated in 73 pop-up collection events throughout British Columbia.
